Calculated free testosterone is below the lower reference limit. May be associated with symptoms of low testosterone including fatigue, low libido, and reduced energy.
FSH, LH, oestradiol, progesterone, AMH, testosterone with SHBG, DHEAS, full thyroid and cortisol. The hormones that shift through perimenopause, all measured together.
Sleep disruption, mood changes, brain fog, weight gain, hot flushes or irregular cycles starting in your late 30s or 40s. The hormonal explanation behind it.
Hormone fluctuations begin years before cycles become obviously irregular. The panel reveals where you sit on the perimenopause spectrum, often earlier than expected.
Before deciding about hormone replacement therapy, knowing your baseline hormone levels is essential. The panel provides the data informed decisions require.
Thyroid and adrenal issues mimic perimenopause symptoms. Testing all three systems together reveals what is actually driving how you feel.

A very positive experience
I booked a blood test because my health insurance did not cover GP consultations. The referral form was emailed to me immediately, I walked into a collection centre the next morning and my results arrived the very next day. One result showed an elevated TSH level and because I was pregnant, a doctor from their Sydney office personally called me to talk it through. It made me feel they genuinely cared.
Could not have been better
I've been in remission from Graves Disease for a few years and suddenly had symptoms again. It was easy to choose and purchase the test I needed at a reasonable price and set up the appointment online for the next day. The lab tech was friendly and put me entirely at ease, and the results were delivered electronically within a day or two. Could not have been better.
These guys are brilliant
Ordered the test, got the referral letter within 20 minutes. Got the test done on a Saturday and had the results by Sunday evening. Seriously efficient and very quick.
Efficient from start to finish
I selected and ordered the tests I wanted online, then dropped into the clinic for the blood draw during my lunch break. The process was quick and efficient, and by lunchtime the following day my results had been emailed directly to me. Fast, convenient and hassle-free.
Brilliant service
Absolutely loved that I got to choose what blood tests I wanted. There is a huge selection and the process was very simple. My results arrived very quickly in my email and I'd definitely use again and recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic service
Excellent, convenient service and so easy to use. Amazingly quick results and a personalised service if needed. I could not fault any part of it.
Great option and perfect service
Easy check out of the test on the website, easy to get the test done and results came quickly. Good to get an idea of any issues as a prep before seeing the GP.
Very simple and easy
It was very simple and easy. I got my results back within a few hours, a lot quicker than I was expecting. There were a lot of locations I could go to for my blood test. Highly recommend.
Very professional and quick
Very professional, very quick, I can't fault anything. I'll be happy to do another one when the time comes.
The ease of the whole experience
The ease of the whole experience, and the quick turnaround with results. Exactly what I was after.
Reliable and no prescription needed
It is a reliable method to get a blood test without the doctor's prescription. The whole thing was easy to organise and I'd happily use it again.
Very efficient and convenient
Very efficient and convenient from start to finish. Exactly the kind of easy, no-fuss service I was hoping for.
The Menopause & Perimenopause Panel is a menopause blood test built to help women understand the changes happening in the lead-up to and through menopause. Perimenopause can bring shifting cycles, disrupted sleep, mood changes, hot flushes and weight changes, often years before periods stop, and this panel measures the hormones behind those shifts.
It measures FSH and LH (which rise as the ovaries wind down), oestradiol and progesterone, AMH (which reflects ovarian reserve), testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG and DHEAS, plus a thyroid panel (TSH, FT3, FT4) and cortisol, since thyroid and stress symptoms often overlap with menopause. Looking at these together gives a much clearer picture than a single hormone reading, particularly during perimenopause when levels fluctuate.
For a broader hormonal and metabolic view, the Women’s Hormone & Metabolic Health Check goes wider, and the Female Hormone Profile covers core cycle hormones. You can also create your own blood test.
The Menopause & Perimenopause Panel needs no GP referral and no appointment, so you can get your blood test online and walk into any of 3,300+ collection centres across Australia, with results in 24 to 48 hours. For more on menopause and perimenopause, Jean Hailes for Women’s Health is an excellent Australian reference.
FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone)
The single most diagnostic marker for menopausal transition. As ovarian function declines, the pituitary gland produces more FSH in an attempt to stimulate the ovaries. A persistently elevated FSH is the clearest hormonal indicator that perimenopause or menopause is underway.
LH (Luteinising Hormone)
Works alongside FSH to regulate the menstrual cycle and ovulation. Rises during the menopausal transition alongside FSH. The FSH/LH ratio provides additional context around where a woman sits in the transition.
Oestradiol (E2)
The primary form of oestrogen produced by the ovaries. Fluctuates unpredictably in perimenopause before declining in menopause. Low oestradiol is associated with hot flushes, vaginal dryness, poor sleep, mood instability and accelerated bone loss.
Progesterone
Often the first hormone to decline in perimenopause, before oestrogen drops significantly. Low progesterone causes irregular cycles, sleep disruption, anxiety and heavy periods — symptoms frequently attributed to stress rather than hormonal change.
AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone)
A direct marker of ovarian reserve — how many eggs remain. Declines steadily from the mid-30s and reaches very low levels in perimenopause. Useful for understanding where a woman sits in her reproductive timeline and how close to menopause she may be.
Testosterone (Total & Free)
Often overlooked in women’s hormonal health, testosterone plays an important role in libido, energy, mood, muscle mass and cognitive clarity. Declines gradually from the 30s onwards and falls further during the menopausal transition.
SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin)
A protein that binds to sex hormones and affects how much is biologically active. Elevated SHBG can reduce the amount of free testosterone and oestrogen available to tissues, worsening hormonal symptoms even when total hormone levels appear adequate.
DHEAS
A precursor hormone produced by the adrenal glands that converts to oestrogen and testosterone in peripheral tissues. Declines with age and plays a supporting role in energy, mood, immune function and hormonal balance — particularly relevant as ovarian production declines.
TSH, Free T3 & Free T4
Thyroid dysfunction is common in women over 40 and produces symptoms — fatigue, weight gain, mood changes, brain fog, irregular periods — that are nearly identical to perimenopause. Testing thyroid function alongside reproductive hormones is essential to distinguish between the two or identify when both are contributing.
Cortisol
Chronic stress and elevated cortisol directly suppress oestrogen and progesterone production and worsen sleep disruption, weight gain and mood instability during the menopausal transition. Cortisol also rises when oestrogen falls, creating a feedback loop that amplifies symptoms.
