MediTests started with the two of us just over three years ago. We set out to build the blood testing partner we wished existed.

More than 20,000 lab tests later, we are more certain of that than we were at the start.

People do not avoid blood tests because they do not care about their health. They avoid them because the process asks a lot of you before it gives you anything back. You need an appointment. You need a reason, and you need to hope it sounds good enough.

Somewhere in there, a simple question about your own body becomes something you have to justify.

So people wait, until they feel bad enough that the reason is obvious. Which is exactly the wrong moment to start paying attention.

We think blood testing should be one of the most ordinary things you can do for yourself. Not a reaction to something going wrong. Not a favour anyone grants you. Just a normal thing a person does, quietly, because they would rather know than wonder.

So that is what we built. You choose what gets tested, and there are now over 500 to choose from, alongside a range of at-home kits. No appointment, no referral, and not a single person asks you why.

Your request form is emailed the moment you pay, and you can walk into any of the 3,000+ partner collection centres we work with around Australia. Your sample is analysed at the same NATA-accredited Australian laboratories that hospitals and GPs use.

Your results come back to you in 24 to 48 hours, and to nobody else. They are not added to My Health Record. If you would rather have a doctor talk you through them on the phone, you can add that too.

What we can do is get you the number, in context, on your terms, and fast.

The rest is ambition. We want MediTests to be the service you come back to, so that one result turns into a line you can follow over years. One test is a number. Two tests are a direction. Clearer, cheaper, and yours, for as long as you want to keep looking.

Blood work should not feel like a big deal. We are working on that.
