The value

Why it's worth knowing

15 markers across every major aging system

Blood health, blood sugar, lipids, organ function, inflammation, minerals and Vitamin D. The fundamental snapshot of how every system that drives aging is currently functioning.

Fasting glucose, HbA1c and full lipid panel

Glucose shows your current state. HbA1c shows your three-month average. The lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides) shows your cardiovascular trajectory. Together they predict metabolic aging decades in advance.

hsCRP for the inflammation behind aging

High-sensitivity CRP catches the low-grade inflammation that drives cardiovascular disease, dementia, cancer and accelerated aging. Standard CRP misses this. hsCRP is the longevity-grade inflammation marker.

Vitamin D for hormones, bones, mood and immunity

Most Australians sit below optimal despite the sun. Vitamin D drives bone density, immune function, mood, testosterone in men and oestrogen metabolism in women. The single most under-tested longevity nutrient.

FBC, LFT, kidney function and LDH

Full Blood Count reveals immune health, anaemia and red cell status. Liver function and kidney function show how your organs are handling daily life. LDH catches tissue damage and metabolic stress before symptoms appear.

Calcium, magnesium, phosphate, lipase, amylase and uric acid

Magnesium drives 300+ enzymatic reactions and is commonly deficient. Calcium and phosphate reveal bone and parathyroid health. Lipase and amylase track pancreatic function. Uric acid catches metabolic stress, gout risk and cardiovascular risk linked to diet.

FAQs

Common questions

Everything you need to know before you order.

Through your GP, blood tests are typically only covered by Medicare when they're medically warranted. Medicare covers testing because a condition justifies it, not because you want to be proactive or just want to know certain things. You can't just walk in and ask for a panel of biomarkers because you're curious or want a baseline. Your doctor decides which markers get tested, and that list is usually limited.

MediTests is for people who want to take a proactive approach to their health. Deep insights, a personal baseline, and the exact markers you want to track over time. You're in full control. It's your data. No condition required, no waiting room, no eligibility hurdles.

You can get any test you want, with over 300 blood tests across 16 categories. We never refuse a blood test.

You also get your original lab report back in 24 to 48 hours, sent straight to your inbox. No follow-up consult, no appointment to book, and nothing linked to My Health Record or Medicare. Completely private.

Same NATA-accredited labs GPs and hospitals use. Same accuracy. None of the waiting.
No GP consult or telehealth appointment needed. We instantly generate your pathology request form and send it directly to your inbox after checkout.

If you would like one, we also offer private doctor consultations as an optional extra, for people who want private blood test results and a private consult to discuss them.
As simple as it gets:
  1. Choose your test online. Your pathology request form arrives in your inbox instantly.
  2. Walk into any of our 3,300+ collection centres. No appointment needed.
  3. Results delivered securely to your inbox in 24 to 48 hours.
Most tests need no fasting at all. Some markers, like fasting glucose, fasting insulin and certain cholesterol panels, give the most accurate reading after fasting. If your test needs it, it's stated on the product page and on your pathology request form. Water is always fine.
No, never. Nothing is linked to My Health Record or Medicare. Your results are completely private and confidential: they're sent securely to your email, and only you decide who sees them. Many of our customers choose MediTests for exactly this reason, and we take that privacy seriously.
100%. We partner with NATA-accredited Australian laboratories, the same trusted labs used by hospitals and GPs across the country. Every result is processed to the same clinical standards as your local pathology centre.
Never. The price you see includes everything: your pathology request form, testing, processing and results. No surprises.
The most common reason is that something feels off but a standard GP panel hasn't turned anything up. Fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, low mood, poor recovery, irregular cycles and low libido all have measurable biological causes that a targeted panel can identify.

You don't need symptoms to benefit from testing. Proactive testing establishes your personal baseline, catches risk factors before they cause harm, and helps you understand whether diet, training or lifestyle changes are actually working.
Yes, absolutely. You can build your own panel by choosing from our wide range of individual tests. Whether you're checking one thing or a combination of markers, you're in control of what you get tested for. Visit our Create Your Own Test page to start building.

About this test

Questions about the Longevity Baseline

Extra answers specific to this test.

It measures 49 biomarkers: a full blood count returning 15 results, liver function returning 8, kidney function and electrolytes returning 7, iron studies returning 4, a lipid study (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides), fasting glucose, HbA1c, hs-CRP, vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, phosphate, lipase, amylase, LDH and uric acid. Grouped requests are where most of the volume sits. It is the general health layer of the Longevity range, covering the organ function and nutrients the Starter Panel does not.

Yes. This test includes fasting glucose, which needs a fasting sample to be read accurately. Fast for 10 to 12 hours with water only and aim for a morning collection. Cholesterol does not require the fast, since both fasting and non-fasting samples are accepted for lipid testing.

The Baseline covers organ function, nutrients and the core metabolic markers. The Advanced Longevity Panel measures 51, adding fasting insulin, ApoB, full thyroid function and cortisol. One thing worth checking before you choose: the Baseline includes iron studies and the Advanced panel does not currently list them, so the step up is not purely additive.

It suits anyone wanting a broad picture of general health in one collection, covering organ function, blood, cholesterol, nutrients and the core metabolic markers. It is the sensible starting point of the Longevity range for someone who has not had comprehensive bloods done recently and wants a foundation to compare against later. If fasting insulin, ApoB, thyroid or cortisol are specifically what you are after, the Advanced panel carries those and this one does not.

Hundreds of Australians have skipped the referral and the waiting, and taken control of their health with MediTests.

A very positive experience

I booked a blood test because my health insurance did not cover GP consultations. The referral form was emailed to me immediately, I walked into a collection centre the next morning and my results arrived the very next day. One result showed an elevated TSH level and because I was pregnant, a doctor from their Sydney office personally called me to talk it through. It made me feel they genuinely cared.

Could not have been better

I've been in remission from Graves Disease for a few years and suddenly had symptoms again. It was easy to choose and purchase the test I needed at a reasonable price and set up the appointment online for the next day. The lab tech was friendly and put me entirely at ease, and the results were delivered electronically within a day or two. Could not have been better.

Longevity Baseline

The Longevity Baseline is a longevity baseline blood test that gives a clear, rounded view of the systems most relevant to ageing and long-term disease risk. It suits anyone who wants a solid foundation for proactive, prevention-focused health tracking.

It covers a full blood count, fasting glucose and HbA1c, a full lipid profile with HDL and LDL, hsCRP (inflammation), liver and kidney function, vitamin D, iron studies, calcium, magnesium and phosphate, plus lipase, amylase, LDH and uric acid. Together these give a snapshot of metabolic health, cardiovascular risk, nutrient status and systemic inflammation in one test.

For a lighter starting point, the Longevity Starter Panel focuses on six predictive markers. To go deeper, the Advanced Longevity Panel adds insulin resistance, ApoB, thyroid and cortisol. You can also create your own blood test.

The Longevity Baseline needs no GP referral and no appointment, so you can get your blood test online and walk into any of 3,300+ collection centres across Australia, with results in 24 to 48 hours. For more on healthy ageing, Healthdirect Australia is a useful reference.

What we test for

Full Blood Count (FBC)
Evaluates red and white blood cells and platelets to provide insight into overall health, immune function, inflammation, and conditions such as anaemia or infection.

Fasting Glucose
Measures blood sugar levels at the time of collection and helps assess how effectively the body is managing glucose.

HbA1c
Reflects average blood sugar levels over the past 2–3 months and is used to assess long-term glucose control and diabetes risk.

Lipid Studies (Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides)
Assesses cholesterol and fat levels in the blood to help evaluate cardiovascular health and long-term heart disease risk.

High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hsCRP)
A sensitive marker of low-grade inflammation that is commonly used to assess cardiovascular and metabolic risk associated with ageing.

Liver Function Tests
Assess liver health and function, including the effects of diet, alcohol, medications, and metabolic stress.

Kidney Function & Electrolytes
Evaluate kidney health, hydration status, and electrolyte balance, which are essential for long-term organ function.

Vitamin D
Assesses vitamin D status, which plays an important role in bone health, immune function, and muscle strength as we age.

Calcium
Essential for bone strength, muscle contraction, nerve signalling, and cardiovascular function.

Magnesium
Supports muscle and nerve function, energy production, and cellular stability.

Phosphate
Plays a role in bone structure, cellular energy metabolism, and tissue repair.

Lipase
An enzyme produced by the pancreas that helps assess pancreatic function and long-term digestive health.

Amylase
A digestive enzyme commonly measured alongside lipase to evaluate pancreatic and digestive function.

Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH)
A general marker of tissue turnover or cellular stress that can increase with inflammation or age-related changes.

Uric Acid
Measures uric acid levels in the blood, which are influenced by metabolism and kidney function and are associated with gout and cardiovascular risk.
