The value

Why it's worth knowing

58 organic acid markers, the metabolic snapshot blood tests cannot match

Energy production, neurotransmitter metabolism, B vitamin status, fatty acid oxidation, oxidative stress, detoxification and gut dysbiosis markers measured together. Reveals biochemical dysfunction at the cellular level.

Neurotransmitter metabolites for mood and cognition

Vanillylmandelic Acid (VMA), Homovanillic Acid (HVA), Kynurenic Acid, Quinolinic Acid and 5-HIAA reveal how your body produces and processes dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin. The biochemical signature behind anxiety, depression, focus and mood.

B vitamin functional status, not just blood levels

Methylmalonic Acid (functional B12), FIGLU (functional folate), Xanthurenic Acid (functional B6) and Kynurenic Acid (functional B6). These functional markers reveal deficiencies before serum B vitamin levels drop.

Mitochondrial energy production markers

Citric Acid Cycle intermediates (citric, isocitric, fumaric, malic acids), pyruvic acid and lactic acid reveal whether your mitochondria are producing energy efficiently. The biochemical reason behind unexplained fatigue.

Oxidative stress and detoxification markers

8-Hydroxy-deoxyguanosine (DNA oxidative damage), pyroglutamic acid (glutathione status) and sulphate (Phase 2 detox capacity). Reveals whether oxidative stress and impaired detoxification are driving aging and chronic symptoms.

Common questions

Everything you need to know before you order.

No GP consult or telehealth appointment needed. We instantly generate your pathology referral and send it directly to your inbox after checkout.
You can order any test you want without the gatekeeping.

Through your GP, blood tests are typically only bulk-billed under Medicare if you have a specific medical condition that justifies them. You can't just walk in and ask for a panel because you're curious or want a baseline. Your doctor decides which markers get tested, and that list is usually limited.

MediTests is for people who want to take a more proactive approach to their health. Whether you're looking for deeper insights, want to establish a personal baseline, or simply choose exactly which markers you want to track, you're in control. No condition required, no waiting room, no Medicare eligibility hurdles.

100%. We partner with NATA-accredited Australian laboratories, the same trusted labs used by hospitals and GPs across the country. Every result is processed to the same clinical standards as your local pathology centre.
Never. The price you see includes everything: referral, testing, processing and results. No surprises.
The most common reason is that something feels off but a standard GP panel hasn't turned anything up. Fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, low mood, poor recovery, irregular cycles and low libido all have measurable biological causes that a targeted panel can identify.

You don't need symptoms to benefit from testing. Proactive testing establishes your personal baseline, catches risk factors before they cause harm, and helps you understand whether diet, training or lifestyle changes are actually working.
Yes, absolutely. You can build your own panel by choosing from our wide range of individual tests. Whether you're checking one thing or a combination of markers, you're in control of what you get tested for. Visit our Create Your Own Test page to start building.

A very positive experience

I booked a blood test because my health insurance did not cover GP consultations. The referral form was emailed to me immediately, I walked into a collection centre the next morning and my results arrived the very next day. One result showed an elevated TSH level and because I was pregnant, a doctor from their Sydney office personally called me to talk it through. It made me feel they genuinely cared.

Could not have been better

I've been in remission from Graves Disease for a few years and suddenly had symptoms again. It was easy to choose and purchase the test I needed at a reasonable price and set up the appointment online for the next day. The lab tech was friendly and put me entirely at ease, and the results were delivered electronically within a day or two. Could not have been better.

Organic Acids Metabolomic Mapping

The Organic Acids Metabolomic Mapping is an advanced organic acids test that uses a urine sample to map how your body is producing energy, processing nutrients and clearing waste. Organic acids are byproducts of metabolism, and their pattern offers a detailed window into processes that standard blood tests do not capture.

It evaluates metabolic function, nutrient status, gut and microbial markers, and detoxification pathways, giving a detailed overview of energy production, nutrient processing and your response to oxidative stress. It is well suited to people investigating fatigue, gut concerns or unexplained symptoms who want a functional, metabolism-level view.

For a gut-specific picture, the Complete Microbiome Mapping analyses your stool microbiome, and for a broad nutritional view the NutriSTAT Profile combines blood and urine. You can also create your own blood test.

The Organic Acids Metabolomic Mapping is an at-home collection kit needing no GP referral and no appointment. Your kit is delivered to you, you collect your urine sample at home and return it, and your detailed results follow. For more on metabolic health, Healthdirect Australia is a useful reference.
