The value

Why it's worth knowing

35 markers, the comprehensive annual at $699

The complete read on hormones, cardiovascular (including ApoB, Lp(a), ApoA1), full thyroid, methylation (homocysteine), metabolic, organ function, trace minerals and inflammation. The depth of testing private clinics charge $1,500+ for, at a fraction of the price.

Advanced cardiovascular: ApoB, Lp(a) and ApoA1

Standard cholesterol tests miss the actual particles attacking your arteries. ApoB measures atherogenic particle count. Lp(a) reveals genetic cardiovascular risk that cannot be changed but must be known. ApoA1 measures protective HDL particles. The cardiovascular depth most annuals never include.

Complete hormone profile for both sexes

Total Testosterone, Free Testosterone, SHBG, oestradiol, LH, FSH, prolactin, progesterone, cortisol, DHEAS and Growth Hormone. The full hormone read behind energy, mood, libido, recovery and metabolic health, for men and women.

Trace minerals: zinc, copper, selenium, manganese

The four trace minerals behind testosterone production (zinc), iron metabolism (copper), thyroid conversion (selenium) and bone health (manganese). Rarely included in standard annuals but critical for hormonal and metabolic health.

Homocysteine for cardiovascular and brain health

Elevated homocysteine is independently linked to heart attack, stroke and dementia. Driven by methylation status, B vitamin intake and genetics. The longevity marker every comprehensive annual should include.

$699 for what would cost $1,000+ a la carte

ApoB, Lp(a), ApoA1, homocysteine, complete hormone profile, trace minerals, full thyroid and standard chemistry ordered separately would total well over $1,000. The Signature bundles the depth at a single panel price designed for the annual buyer.

Common questions

Everything you need to know before you order.

No GP consult or telehealth appointment needed. We instantly generate your pathology referral and send it directly to your inbox after checkout.
You can order any test you want without the gatekeeping.

Through your GP, blood tests are typically only bulk-billed under Medicare if you have a specific medical condition that justifies them. You can't just walk in and ask for a panel because you're curious or want a baseline. Your doctor decides which markers get tested, and that list is usually limited.

MediTests is for people who want to take a more proactive approach to their health. Whether you're looking for deeper insights, want to establish a personal baseline, or simply choose exactly which markers you want to track, you're in control. No condition required, no waiting room, no Medicare eligibility hurdles.

100%. We partner with NATA-accredited Australian laboratories, the same trusted labs used by hospitals and GPs across the country. Every result is processed to the same clinical standards as your local pathology centre.
Never. The price you see includes everything: referral, testing, processing and results. No surprises.
The most common reason is that something feels off but a standard GP panel hasn't turned anything up. Fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, low mood, poor recovery, irregular cycles and low libido all have measurable biological causes that a targeted panel can identify.

You don't need symptoms to benefit from testing. Proactive testing establishes your personal baseline, catches risk factors before they cause harm, and helps you understand whether diet, training or lifestyle changes are actually working.
Yes, absolutely. You can build your own panel by choosing from our wide range of individual tests. Whether you're checking one thing or a combination of markers, you're in control of what you get tested for. Visit our Create Your Own Test page to start building.

A very positive experience

I booked a blood test because my health insurance did not cover GP consultations. The referral form was emailed to me immediately, I walked into a collection centre the next morning and my results arrived the very next day. One result showed an elevated TSH level and because I was pregnant, a doctor from their Sydney office personally called me to talk it through. It made me feel they genuinely cared.

Could not have been better

I've been in remission from Graves Disease for a few years and suddenly had symptoms again. It was easy to choose and purchase the test I needed at a reasonable price and set up the appointment online for the next day. The lab tech was friendly and put me entirely at ease, and the results were delivered electronically within a day or two. Could not have been better.

MediTests Signature Health Assessment

The MediTests Signature Health Assessment is our signature comprehensive blood test, bringing together a wide sweep of markers across nearly every major system in one panel. It suits people who want a genuinely thorough picture of their health in a single sitting, without piecing together several separate tests.

It spans a full blood count and ESR, liver and kidney function, calcium, magnesium and phosphate, a metabolic block of fasting glucose, HbA1c and fasting insulin, and a full lipid profile with advanced markers including ApoB, ApoA1 and Lipoprotein(a). It includes homocysteine, a complete hormone panel (testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, LH, FSH, oestradiol, prolactin, progesterone, cortisol, DHEAS and growth hormone), a full thyroid panel (TSH, FT3, FT4), iron studies, vitamin D, folate and zinc.

For an annual-baseline framing of similar depth, the 365 Health Check Plus is a strong alternative, while the Ultimate Health & Performance Check is the most extensive panel we offer. You can also build your own blood test.

The MediTests Signature Health Assessment needs no GP referral and no appointment, so you can get your blood test online and walk into any of 3,300+ collection centres across Australia, with results in 24 to 48 hours. For more on this test and what your results can show, Healthdirect Australia is a useful reference.

What we test for

  • Full Blood Count (RBC, WBC, Platelets): A foundational panel measuring red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets — assessing oxygen transport, immune activity, and clotting function in a single test.
  • ESR: Erythrocyte sedimentation rate measures how quickly red blood cells settle, acting as a broad signal for inflammation, infection, and autoimmune activity.
  • Liver Function Tests: A panel of enzymes and proteins including ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, bilirubin, albumin, and total protein that together assess liver health, bile flow, and the liver’s ability to synthesise key proteins.
  • Kidney Function (Urea, Electrolytes, Creatinine, eGFR): Measures how well the kidneys are filtering waste and maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance, with eGFR providing the most clinically useful estimate of kidney filtration capacity.
  • Calcium: The most abundant mineral in the body, essential for bone strength, nerve signalling, muscle contraction, and heart rhythm. Abnormal levels can indicate parathyroid, bone, or kidney disorders.
  • Calcium (corrected): Adjusts the raw calcium result for albumin levels to give a more accurate picture of true calcium status, particularly important when albumin is low.
  • Magnesium: A critical mineral involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions including energy production, muscle function, sleep, and blood sugar regulation. Deficiency is common and frequently missed.
  • Phosphate: Works closely with calcium in bone mineralisation and energy metabolism. Abnormal phosphate can reflect kidney disease, parathyroid dysfunction, or nutritional deficiency.
  • High Sensitivity CRP: A highly sensitive marker of systemic inflammation and one of the strongest independent predictors of cardiovascular risk. Elevated levels can appear years before a clinical event.
  • Fasting Glucose: The baseline measure of blood sugar after fasting, used to screen for diabetes, prediabetes, and metabolic dysfunction.
  • Uric Acid: A waste product of purine metabolism. Elevated levels indicate gout risk and are increasingly recognised as a marker of metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease.
  • Lipase: An enzyme produced by the pancreas. Elevated lipase is the primary marker for pancreatitis and pancreatic stress.
  • Amylase: A digestive enzyme from the pancreas and salivary glands. Measured alongside lipase to assess pancreatic function and gastrointestinal health.
  • Fibrinogen: A clotting protein produced by the liver. Elevated levels are associated with increased cardiovascular risk, chronic inflammation, and thrombosis.
  • HbA1c: Reflects average blood glucose over the past 2 to 3 months by measuring the percentage of haemoglobin coated in sugar. The gold standard for diabetes diagnosis and long-term glucose control.
  • Fasting Insulin: Often normal when fasting glucose is still normal, making this one of the earliest detectable markers of insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction.
  • Total Testosterone: The overall level of testosterone in circulation, reflecting production from the testes or ovaries and adrenal glands. Relevant to energy, mood, libido, muscle mass, and metabolic health in both men and women.
  • Free Testosterone: The biologically active fraction of testosterone not bound to proteins, representing what is actually available to tissues and cells.
  • SHBG: Sex hormone binding globulin binds testosterone and oestrogen, directly controlling how much free hormone is available. High SHBG can cause symptoms of hormone deficiency even when total levels appear normal.
  • Oestradiol: The primary form of oestrogen, important for bone density, cardiovascular health, mood, and reproductive function in women, and for libido, bone, and cardiovascular health in men.
  • LH + FSH: Luteinising hormone and follicle stimulating hormone are pituitary signals that drive testosterone production in men and regulate the menstrual cycle and ovarian function in women. Essential for understanding the root cause of hormone imbalances.
  • Prolactin: A pituitary hormone elevated by stress, certain medications, and pituitary tumours. Chronically elevated prolactin suppresses testosterone and oestrogen and can cause infertility, low libido, and irregular cycles.
  • Progesterone: A key hormone in the female cycle, essential for luteal phase health, fertility, and mood regulation. In men, progesterone is a precursor to testosterone and other steroid hormones.
  • Cortisol + DHEAS: Cortisol is the primary stress hormone regulating energy, inflammation, and the stress response. DHEA-S is its adrenal counterpart, declining steadily with age and chronic stress. Together they give a clear picture of adrenal function and HPA axis health.
  • Growth Hormone: Produced by the pituitary gland and critical for tissue repair, muscle maintenance, fat metabolism, and cellular regeneration. Declines significantly with age and is a key marker in longevity and performance panels.
  • Lipid Studies with HDL/LDL Cholesterol: A full lipid panel measuring total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides — the standard cardiovascular risk screen assessing the balance between harmful and protective cholesterol fractions.
  • Apolipoprotein B: The protein carried on every atherogenic particle in the blood. A more accurate measure of cardiovascular risk than LDL alone, particularly in people with normal-looking standard lipid results.
  • Apolipoprotein A1: The primary structural protein of HDL. A direct measure of the protective cardiovascular fraction, more precise than HDL cholesterol alone.
  • Lipoprotein (a): A genetically determined cardiovascular risk factor that is largely unaffected by diet or lifestyle. Elevated Lp(a) significantly increases the risk of heart attack and stroke and is missed by every standard lipid panel.
  • Homocysteine: An amino acid that damages blood vessel walls when elevated. High homocysteine is driven by B vitamin deficiency and is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cognitive decline.
  • TSH, Free T3, Free T4: A complete thyroid panel measuring the pituitary signal to the thyroid alongside both active and inactive thyroid hormones. Far more informative than TSH alone, which can appear normal while Free T3 and T4 tell a different story.
  • Iron Studies: A full panel including serum iron, ferritin, transferrin, transferrin saturation, and TIBC — assessing iron deficiency, overload, and the body’s capacity to store and transport iron.
  • Vitamin D: Critical for bone health, immune function, mood regulation, and hormone production. Deficiency is extremely common in Australia despite high sun exposure and is linked to fatigue, low immunity, and poor mental health.
  • Folate: A B vitamin essential for DNA synthesis, red blood cell production, and methylation. Low folate is associated with anaemia, elevated homocysteine, and increased cardiovascular and neurological risk.
  • Zinc, Copper, Selenium, Manganese: Four trace minerals with outsized roles in immune defence, antioxidant protection, thyroid function, wound healing, and enzyme activity. Commonly depleted by poor diet, stress, and gut dysfunction, and rarely tested in standard panels.
