Do I need a GP referral?
No. These are private, self-request blood panels. You order online and your pathology request form is emailed to you as a PDF within minutes. Nothing goes through a GP first, and no Medicare item numbers are involved.
When should I test if I am starting a NattyPLUS product?
Ideally before your first dose. That gives you a clean baseline. Then run the same panel again at around ninety days, which is long enough for meaningful change to show up in bloodwork. Put the two reports side by side and the comparison does the work. If you have already started, test now anyway, since a starting point from today is still far better than none.
I am already a few months into my stack. Is it too late?
Not at all. Test now, treat that as your baseline, and retest in ninety days. You will not capture what happened before today, but from this point on every change is measured rather than guessed at.
Which panel should I choose?
The Health & Hormone Check is the right starting point if you are running a testosterone, oestrogen or liver support product, which covers most NattyPLUS customers. The Advanced Health & Hormone Check adds full blood count, ESR, HbA1c, fasting insulin and morning cortisol for $46 more, and is the better choice if you want stress, inflammation and long-term metabolic health in the same draw.
Do I need to fast?
Yes. Both panels include fasting glucose and lipid markers, so an 8 to 12 hour fast is recommended. Water is fine and encouraged, and keep taking prescribed medication unless told otherwise. Morning collection is easiest, and it also suits the cortisol marker in the Advanced Health & Hormone Check, which is measured at its natural morning peak.
Should I take my supplements on the morning of the test?
Hold them until after your blood draw unless a practitioner has told you otherwise, and do the same on your retest so the two are comparable. Consistency between the two tests matters more than the specific choice. Keep taking any prescribed medication as normal.
Does testing at the same time of day matter?
Yes, more than most people expect. Testosterone and cortisol both follow a daily rhythm and are highest in the morning, so a morning reading and an afternoon reading are not comparable. Book both tests for a similar time of day or the comparison will not mean much.
Where do I get my blood taken?
Any of 3,300+ NATA-accredited collection centres across Australia, with no appointment required. Bring the PDF request form from your confirmation email, printed or on your phone, plus photo ID. Collection usually takes under ten minutes.
How quickly will I get my results?
Most results are delivered within 24 to 48 hours of collection. You receive the full pathology report by email, showing every marker against its reference range.
Who reviews my results, and should I see a doctor?
All pathology is processed by NATA-accredited Australian laboratories working to ISO 15189 standards, and results are reviewed by AHPRA-registered medical practitioners. Your report is yours to keep. Taking it to your GP is a good idea if anything falls outside its reference range or if you have symptoms you are concerned about, since blood results are best read alongside your history by someone qualified to do it.
